A Concoction of Fun Things

I am a NCAA Equestrian athlete, completely obsessed with CrossFit, a lover of the horse racing industry, and I appreciate any little things that can bring a smile to my face. Yes, my URL is a joke from my favorite show of all time, Scrubs. Follow me on twitter @brittlanwall

Ask me anything

GUYS GUYS GUYS! GUESS WHAT…

I am now officially able to lift heavy things three days a week at this little gym in Lexington! I have never been so pumped before to go to a non-crossfit facility before. I think I’ve been so deprived of what I love that I will do anything to get just a little bit of that back right now! Ha!

They’ve got good Oly lifting racks, a pullup bar, a glute ham machine, a prowler, and even boxes for box jumps. I am going to use and respectfully abuse all of the listed items above the rest of the summer.

Okay don’t judge me (or do, whatever), but when I cleaned the bar off the ground just to place it on the rack, I got chills. Literally got chills. Non crossfitters, you’ll probably think I’m absolutely bonkers, but seriously. I was so happy just to be lifting a barbell again that my body made sure to let me know it was happy too.

To top things off, now that I can follow my box’s programming in Athens online, I went ahead and pressed for 5-5-5…and I ended up hitting my 5 rep max for my press on my first day back! WHAT!? Now, I highly doubt that will happen with any other lifts, but hey, I’ll take it right now.

I then sauntered over to try the pullup bar…and casually strung together ten butterfly pullups. Guys, I can still do awesome butterflies and I haven’t done a pullup in over a month. I wanted to hug the pullup bar. I didn’t because that would be weird, but I seriously considered it.

With work being so great today and now this, I think I’m finally as complete as I’ll get up here (legitimately crossfitting would fully complete me, obviously).

LIFT ALL THE IRON!!!!
