I just ate an OBSCENE amount of Greek yogurt and berries and walnuts. And when I mean obscene, I mean four cups give or take. HAHA. I might have hit my protein intake for most of the day. This is in addition to a three egg + 1 scoop egg white omlette this morning. My body was ready?
I should be primed and ready for CrossFit at 2:30 with all that protein. My lack of self control with healthy foods is hilarious.
Dairy
Thinking about cutting out dairy from my eating habits again…even though I LOVE it. Now I don’t eat all dairy, but most notably I have been consuming lots of organic whole milk, goat cheese, and greek yogurt. My skin has been really annoying lately with blemishes and I’m curious to see if this is the culprit. I’m going to see how my body reacts, looks, and feels. This could get interesting. I’m thinking it is just the milk that is the problem, but I’m not sure. Anyone else having the same problem I’m having? Or maybe you’ve experienced it in the past?
Since I’m Tumblr-tarded and can’t figure out how to answer Karladphoto’s response to my post, I’m just going to say thanks for sharing right here! Definitely cutting out dairy and seeing the difference it makes!
It’s Been a Great Day…because of CrossFit :)
Actually it didn’t start off great. It wasn’t a bad beginning of the day, it was just boring. Three classes, then practice. Practice was good, except I rode a ridiculously bouncy horse at the sitting trot for 90% of the practice and have never had to squeeze an animal so hard with my legs just to NOT get bounced up to the moon.
Then I went to C3, and I was feeling a little lethargic and not really in the mindset to snatch, which was pretty much ALL we did today (can’t say I didn’t like it though…man, i love me some snatch. HA). Anyways, somehow I woke up and ended up PRing my snatch at #110!!! I was literally like this.

Then I proceeded to hammer out some heavy high bar back squats with a looooong 2 second pause at the bottom, then do the snatch workout afterwards. It’s AMAZING how one good lift at CrossFit can turn my entire day into something incredible.
On a random dietary note, I’ve decided since I want to lift even heavier things I’m going to incorporate some dairy back in my diet. So I guess I’d technically be “primal” instead of “paleo” according to Mark Sisson? Mostly organic whole milk, goat cheese, and some of that Fage plain greek yogurt. Gonna see how the ole’ body reacts and see how I progress with my strength. I’m actually really excited!
Now I gotta study for this sport law test Thursday. Good thing I PRed my snatch or else I might be a wee bit grumpy right now :)
Gosh I love CrossFit. That is all.
AMAZING Paleo Sweet Potato/Beef/Bacon Casserole. Seriously guys, it'll give you a straight up foodgasm. →
One of the guys at my box gave me this recipe and after tasting some of his casserole I had to make one for myself. I used the same ingredients except I subbed nitrate-free turkey bacon for the bacon and used only 6 eggs instead of 8. I also didn’t use a slow cooker because I was that impatient for my food. I put it in the oven for 1:00 or so at 350 degrees and then let it cool afterwards.
Then I ate the CRAP outta it. Oh I can’t wait to wake up and have it for breakfast, lunch, and most likely dinner tomorrow. Nom Nom.
Went to TOWN on this delicious dinner of tilapia, mixed veggies, kale (in hot sauce. you heard me. HOT SAUCE), and an avocado. I sent an “after” pic of it being completely gone to my mom and these were her words…
“ALL OF IT IS GONE??? You ate a whole school of fish!”
My response? “They fell behind. ONLY THE FITTEST SURVIVE!”
Don’t worry guys, my mom totally supports my paleo lifestyle. Paleo humor is fun.
Nom nom nom.
I literally just went to TOWN on some eggs and turkey bacon. Wait… does that mean you just had breakfast for dinner, you ask?
Yep. That’s EXACTLY what it means. Brinner (and Scrubs reference) for the win.
